Basic Photography For Kids

17th June 2010

You can easily teach children the basics of photography. You have to teach them the art of appreciating photographs. Instead of letting them play their toys all the time or do other vain things, it is better to teach them the basics of photography. This article will teach you how to teach little children the basics of photography.

First things first, you have to identify the different parts of the camera. These are the things that are the basic things needed: how to delete, crop and view photos, and how to use flash as well as lens, the on and off button, uses of various shooting modes and others you can think of. You need to teach them these things before you allow them to use the camera to take pictures.

Choosing which angle to take photos from is also important. You should also teach them when to use landscape and portrait. You can also teach them some techniques on how to be unique in their shots. And they will be able to do so if they know well how to adjust angles.

You also have to teach your children how to print the photos. This is an easy task that children can do. Explain why there is a need to print photos. Tell them that they need to show the photos to other people. Make them understand that the photos are more appreciated when they are printed. You can help them display the pictures afterwards.

And the last thing they must learn is how to label the pictures. Help them to know how to label the picture aptly. You can assist them when constructing the labels.

Your child should become familiar with these basics of photography. They will only learn how to appreciate photographs if they are the ones taking images. Make this an event to bond with your child.
